IPL FACE, NECK & CHEST

Updated: Jan 5, 2021

My face had several brown spots and redness around my nose and in my cheek area. The uneven skin tone definitely aged me. I wanted to feel comfortable in my skin again, without makeup on! I was not happy with this ageing process. When I did a consultation with Dr. Jubin and Colleen we discussed options to even out my complexation. Dr. Jubin explained that this is one of the most popular treatments at Bella Sante, It offers the biggest bang for your dollar. This treatment was not at all painful, I applied a numbing cream 45 mins before the procedure to make it more comfortable. I did have some redness and the dark spots became darker, almost like coffee grounds on my face and eventually sloughed off over 5-7 days. I was only red and swollen for about a day maybe two. I was told that its important to wear SPF both in the Summer and Winter months to protect my skin from further damage. This treatment should be repeated yearly in the fall to maintain healthy skin free from sun damage.

I had a second treatment on November 12.

Bella Sante description:

Sun damaged skin can be very effectively treated through an innovative treatment called IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Phot Rejuvenation. It uses light in a good way to repair and revive your skin in an effective, non-invasive and proven way. With IPL there is no peeling or scrubbing. It is so quick you can even do it over your lunch hour. Photo Rejuvenation has been safely used in cosmetic medicine for over 25 years.

How it works

IPL Photo Rejuvenation reduces and eliminates the unsightly sun damage visible on your skin. Most of us recognize this as freckles, fine lines and larger brown, age or liver spots. Whether on your face, hands, neck, chest or back, this treatment can make you look like you have turned back time. With an average of 2-3 treatments spread out at 4 week intervals, IPL Photo Rejuvenation stimulates the production of collagen. As the new collagen forms, fine lines and wrinkles are decreased. IPL technology improves both the superficial and deeper skin layers, rejuvenates the skin, and delivers the beneficial thermal energy to deep tissue. After a series of treatments you can see a significant reduction of unwanted pigmentation and the appearance of smoother, revitalized skin.
